Mokuhanga is the Japanese word for woodblock printing. Traditional Japanese woodblock is made without a press, using a baren to take an impression from the wood, and using watercolour paints or pigments instead of inks and rollers. Ideal for making in a home studio when the world is in lockdown! These are some of the prints I have been working on recently while I’ve been at home.
